Hi everyone,
I'm currently facing an issue with uploading my app to the Play Store, and I could really use some insights or advice from someone who might have dealt with a similar situation. Everything seems to be in order on my end — the APK is properly signed, the content complies with all policies, and yet I'm getting a vague error without any clear guidance on what to fix.

The app is designed specifically for a niche audience and includes localized features, especially for the bc local community, so it's crucial for us to get it live as soon as possible.
If anyone here has experience dealing with unexplained Play Store rejections or has tips on how to better communicate with Google support, I’d be extremely grateful. Thank you in advance for any help or pointers!

I recently faced a similar issue when trying to upload my first app to the Play Store. Everything seemed fine in Android Studio, and the app worked perfectly on my test devices. But when I tried to upload the AAB file, I kept getting a signing error. Turns out, I had mistakenly used the debug key instead of the release key when building the bundle.

After some trial and error, I generated a new release key and updated the build.gradle file correctly. I also had to double-check that the version code was incremented and that all mandatory store listings (like privacy policy and screenshots) were filled in.

If anyone is stuck, I recommend carefully reviewing the Play Console’s error message and also checking the official Android documentation. It saved me hours of frustration!

I had something similar happen once, and it turned out the issue wasn’t even in the code — it was the upload key settings. Sometimes Google flags older or weak keys without giving a clear reason. Try generating a new signing key with stronger encryption (RSA 2048 or higher) and rebuild your AAB using that.

Also, make sure your key.properties file points to the correct path — that tripped me up once too. If that doesn’t help, open a support ticket through the Play Console; they usually respond within a few days. Good luck, hope it goes through soon!
