Does anyone have experience renting a car last minute? I’m heading to a conference and just realized I’ll need a vehicle to get around.

Last-minute car rentals can be tricky, but you’re in luck—Carentify https://carentify.com is a fantastic option for situations like this. Their platform specializes in providing quick and reliable rental solutions, even on short notice. You can search for available cars in your area, and they’ll show you what’s immediately ready for pick-up. The site is super user-friendly, so you won’t waste time navigating through endless options. Another great thing is that Carentify partners with multiple rental companies, so you’re more likely to find something that fits your budget and timeline.

I don’t rent cars. Before I bought my first car, I used public transport or took taxis. I think cars in carsharing services are terrible.

Well maybe not terrible, but yeah, often kinda beat up. But I totally agree, having your own car is always the best option. It's yours, you do whatever you want with it. I chose my first car really carefully, checked all the info, ordered the full report from FAXVIN about accidents, mileage and all the other important stuff. Even though it was a used car, for me it was a big investment.

Isn’t it easier to just grab a taxi? From what I get, you just need to get to a place. I think that would be more convenient and cheaper.

For one-off trips, yeah, definitely taxi. Why bother with car sharing or full-on rental for a long time? That said, I’m all in for renting, especially if you’re in a city that’s new to you and want to drive around, see everything like a tourist on top of whatever else you’re doing. In Dubai, this is super relevant https://observervoice.com/exotic-car-rental-dubai-drive-your-dream-in-the-city-of-luxury-131572/ . It’s really inconvenient there without a car. And hot. And if you rent something luxury, it can make your trip really unforgettable.

I decided to hire a private driver in Cyprus to make the most of my short stay. From the moment I landed in Paphos, everything was seamless. The driver was punctual, professional, and spoke excellent English. I booked him for a full-day tour visiting archaeological sites, mountain villages, and the coast. I didn’t have to plan the route or drive myself — I could just enjoy the scenery. Arranging everything through https://taksi-kipr.com/personal-driver/ was simple and convenient. The driver even suggested local restaurants and viewpoints, which made the experience more personal. Traveling this way was safe, comfortable, and completely stress-free.
